Porch flowers.

porch flowers 006a, originally uploaded by jadis_eoc.

I bought these hanging baskets of (mostly) petunias at Lowes a few weeks ago. I have no idea what the smaller flowers are, but they're cute and they match. :)

Hemlock ring.

Doesn't look like much, does it? After it's blocked (washed and pinned out into shape), it will look like the blanket you see on this site. Spectacular.

$500.

jadis tooth, originally uploaded by jadis_eoc.

I should have taken this yesterday, but I was so stressed out, I totally forgot about it. This is the $500 tooth. As you can see, only about the top (left) third of the tooth was above the gumline...the rest is the root. Which is why it cost so much to extract. Whee.

ION, the cat has not only forgiven me, she's a total clingmonster right now.

Fuzzy.

turkish delight masham, originally uploaded by jadis_eoc.

Had a stressful day with the cat, so I spent some time spinning. Hence, this is the picture you get. This is a fiber called Masham, a longwool...staple length (i.e. the length of each individual hair) is 8+ inches. Longwools tend to have a luster to them, but not much bounce. Their length makes them lend themselves well to singles instead of a plied yarn, so I decided to give it a try. Look at how fuzzy it is! This is 3 oz, 318 yds, Southern Cross Fiber May 09 club in a colorway called Turkish Delight.

Heiroglyphics

heiroglyphics, originally uploaded by jadis_eoc.

Is anyone still reading? :D

I'm back from hiatus...I hope. I moved to downtown Wilkes-Barre for my job, and there are way more interesting things to take pictures of down here. Unfortunately, I moved down here in mid-March and I've been too lazy to get back on the PAD horse until now. But, it's June 1st and it seems like a good time for a fresh start.

This little guy is carved into a brick on the floor of the ampitheatre on Public Square, a park that's right outside my building. He might be first in a series, because there are a whole bunch scattered throughout the ampitheatre. I'm not sure why, or what they're about, but they're interesting. :)
